Early Voting…
Get out and just get it done!! Early voting started today and goes thru Sept 9th, 10-4 at the city office building in Herriman. We all know how election day can be so don't wait, get in there and cast your vote. There are some great candidates that have a tough fight and need your support. Whatever side of the issue you are on I think everyone in the city wants to see a good turn out, no matter what the results of the voting turns out to be. …

Current issue and perspective of candidates…
One way to get to know how a candidate thinks is to get their opinion on current issues. Due to the issue of traffic around the Black Ridge Reservoir one idea brought up was to introduce a card to use this area. This card would be free to Herriman and Riverton residents but anyone else would have to pay to use the reservoir. Now what?
I know I went silent for too long. I was out of town when the final decision was voted on and I've been extremely busy with my family and our summer plans. I will post frequently and will do some catching up on what I've experienced with this political experience, but a quick note now: OK districts have passed, they didn't listen to the public so now what? Well the three council members that pushed this through are all up for election. …

Herriman City has just set up a webcast for tonights council meeting. It will be aired at the following link live at 7:30 tonight. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/herriman-city I know how tough it is to get out of the house, make sure kids are taken care of ect. Public Hearing 6/9/11 @ 7:30pm
Tomorrow night is the public hearing for districting, after this meeting the next time they meet will be to vote on it. Despite hearing that it's a foregone conclusion and being told that three members plan on voting in favor of this I still stand that how they are doing this is wrong. I feel strongly that if we can inform the general public they will agree with what we see and they will see through the political smoke and realize that the …

6.2.11 Open house on districting
Well I went to the city's open house meeting tonight. It was not what I thought or expected. Just so everyone is aware of what this is, the council is not "required" to be there so, none were. We had he city recorder and engineer with a couple tables with different map options on it. There was no real discussion on the issue.
